Friday's Fabulous Woman: Sarah Moon

These words from a PhotoIcon article by Laura Noble entitled The Shadows of Style say it all:   "With a long career comes reflection. In the case of Sarah Moon, the passing of time has done little to dull the magical quality of her work. Her photography lives in a mysterious place between waking and dreaming, art and fashion. This place never seems to age, as its themes are often taken from myth, fantasy and fairytale residing in a dislocated familiarity and strangeness."

Based in Paris, Moon's fashion photography has appeared everywhere, from French Elle to Italian Vogue, and she has collaborated with designer names as diverse as Biba, Cacharel, Comme des Garçons and Chanel. She now spends much of her time creating and directing short films.  The Independent article Frocks And Fantasy is another great read.

This video is her work in her words.

Photos are a selection from the Fahey/Klein show of her work: Coincidences.
